Credentialing Specialist

Position Summary

The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for administering and fulfilling pharmacy credentialing and recredentialing activities. This role involves reviewing pharmacy submissions, performing primary source verification, maintaining accurate credentialing records, and providing support to pharmacies throughout the credentialing process. The position requires daily use of MS Outlook, Excel, and Access and involves direct communication with the pharmacy community via phone, email, and fax.

Accuracy, attention to detail, and professional communication are critical due to the high-volume and compliance-driven nature of the work.

Key Responsibilities

Enter and maintain accurate credentialing status and key pharmacy details in internal systems

Perform primary source verification of pharmacy credentials

Review pharmacy submissions, surveys, and recredentialing documentation

Monitor and respond to high-volume inbound email activity in a timely manner

Communicate with pharmacies via phone, email, and fax to resolve credentialing issues

Provide technical support to pharmacies for online questionnaire or survey submissions

Research and resolve credentialing discrepancies or issues

Maintain accurate tracking and documentation of credentialing records

Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

1-3 years of experience in pharmacy credentialing, healthcare credentialing, or related administrative roles

Strong data entry accuracy and speed (alphanumeric)

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including :

Outlook

Word

Excel

Microsoft Access (experience strongly preferred)

Experience with credentialing or survey tools such as Adobe Pro, Qualtrics, Phloot (preferred)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to communicate professionally and concisely with external pharmacy partners

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Education

Verifiable High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Education or experience equivalent to a 4-year college degree (Preferred)
