American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for night shifts requiring an active IL license and advanced cardiac skills.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in the ICU / CCU unit of a critical access hospital4-bed ICU with a 1 : 2 nurse-to-patient ratio on all shiftsNight shifts (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 30 AM) with every other weekend requiredFloating to other units within scope as neededCerner charting system is used; prior Cerner experience preferredNo on-call responsibilitiesICU RNs will provide care for critically ill patients with multi-system issues and complex medication needsChronic and acute renal failure management is a routine part of the caseloadTeam members are expected to prioritize infection control and safety practicesThe hospital is a Magnet facility and provides free parking with a permit provided at orientationSolid-color scrubs of any color are requiredFirst-time travelers are acceptedScheduling requests should be discussed with the manager; RTO ideally should not exceed 5 days\n \n Requirements\n
Active Illinois RN license required to applyMinimum of 2 years ICU experience requiredCurrent certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS requiredExperience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKGIV insulin protocol, chronic / acute renal failure care, and advanced IV therapy skills (arterial lines, blood product administration, central / PICC line, starting IVs)Proficiency with continuous IV paralytics, sedation, emergency medications, titrating cardiac and vasoactive dripsRespiratory management skills including BiPAP / CPAP, chest tubes, ventilators, ABGs, and high-flow nasal cannulaKnowledge of infection prevention, isolation precautions, and surgical wound care including wound vac\n Benefits\n
