Responsibilities:
Collect and analyze data to detect deficient controls, compliance errors and irregularities, fraud, or noncompliance with laws and regulations.
Prepare detailed audit reports in accordance with relevant standards.
Inspect eligibility, procurement and reporting records and compliance systems for efficiency and effectiveness,
Communicate effectively with fellow staff and engagement supervisor/manager to ensure recording of transactions and compliance with laws and regulations.
Examine and evaluate compliance systems.
Perform research when necessary.
Take complete ownership of specific aspects of the engagement and see them through to completion.
Qualifications:
BA/BS/MS in Accounting. Recent grads welcome.
3 months - 2 years of experience; experience with nonprofit and commercial audits.
Basic technology skills, with proficiency in Excel, Word required.
Ability to interact with clients, all levels of staff and colleagues in a professional fashion.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must.
Effective time management and analytical abilities.
Desire having or wanting to achieve CPA.
Ability to travel to client sites, within New Hampshire and Northern Massachusetts. Some overnight travel may be required.
