Alden & Harlow and Longfellow Bar are busy, ever changing, growing and evolving restaurants in Harvard Square. We are looking for those seeking to grow and evolve professionally with the restaurant, while nurturing the career development of younger culinary and restaurant professionals.
We expect the Beverage Manager to create memorable experiences and repeat guests. Everything done should be for that shared end goal.
Requirements :
- Thorough knowledge of craft beers, wine, spirits, and cocktails, with the ability to properly prepare all common cocktails, guide guests through wine by-the-glass choices and all beer selections, and teach current and future Bar Team how to do the same
- Strong working knowledge of restaurant service, beverage, safety, and sanitation practices
- Strong interpersonal & hospitality skills
- Ability to anticipate guest needs
- Result-driven, with a proven ability to be a self-starter
- Able to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Positive attitude, sense of urgency, willingness, and desire to develop Bar program
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand for the entirety of an 8-hour shift, lift and transport items in excess of 50 lbs., kneel, bend, lift items above head, work in small or cramped spaces, tolerate hot and cold temperatures
