Purpose
Instruct identified special education students in the least restrictive environment. Provide direct services in a special education setting as indicated in the IEP. Assist the general education staff in ways to meet the learning and behavior needs of students across educational settings. Provide supervision to paraprofessionals. Work interdependently with special education related service staff in meeting IEP needs of students.

Qualifications
Certified teacher in the state of Indiana. Teacher certification in specific area of exceptionality as regulated by the State Professional Standards Board. Will need to be highly qualified in math and language arts. Proven experience working with students with special learning and behavior needs. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Experience in the use of computer assisted instruction including adaptive or assisted devices. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
