Job Summary : JOB SUMMARY

Leads all daily radiation therapy treatments / simulations administered by staff Radiation Therapists and oversee all technical activities with regard to services performed by the Radiation Therapists independently. Leads department Radiation Therapist resources to ensure all procedures are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Provides radiation therapist's staffing schedules and monitors all staff therapists' activities to ensure compliance to hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Participates and assists the Radiation Oncology Manager in long range planning activities relative to treatment / simulation services, capital and human resources for assigned areas of responsibility. Works as a staff Radiation Therapist as need dictates in treatment and simulation areas (90% clinical / 10% administrative).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administers daily radiation therapy treatments to patients assigned to the treatment unit, accurately and efficiently, at a speed consistent with patient scheduling for pediatric, adult and geriatric patients.
• Maintains records of daily treatment and other records as required.
• Participates in orientation and training of all new radiation therapists to include treatment unit-specific procedures and protocols, on call-procedures, simulation procedures and protocols and provides feedback in a timely manner to clinic director.
• Performs computed tomography (CT) simulation procedures and clinical simulations according to established department protocols.
