Journey to Your Promised Land (JTYPL) is an international 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2010 with a mission to expand economic opportunity, leadership development, and access to critical resources for women and young people around the world. Through education, entrepreneurship, financial empowerment, and policy advocacy, JTYPL addresses the root causes of poverty while helping individuals build pathways to stability, independence, and generational wealth.

JTYPL is also the fiscal agent for TEDxUStreetWomen , a globally recognized TEDx platform that has produced more than 40 speakers, reached over 300,000 viewers worldwide, and created one of the largest women-centered TEDx communities in the Washington, DC region. Our work bridges community, capital, and visibility for women leaders, entrepreneurs, and changemakers.

We are now entering a strategic growth phase and are seeking a Program Assistant Intern to help scale our impact to a broader national and global audience.

Position Overview

The Program Assistant Intern will play a hands-on role in helping JTYPL build, refine, and scale its flagship programs. This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit leadership, social impact, women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship, and program development.

You will work directly with the Founder and leadership team to support operations, outreach, and the expansion of JTYPL’s programming infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development & Scaling

  • Support the design and rollout of JTYPL’s flagship program model
  • Help organize program content, curricula, and delivery frameworks
  • Assist in documenting best practices and building replicable program systems
  • Assist in TEDxUStreetWomen events

Outreach & Audience Growth

  • Support strategies to expand JTYPL’s reach to new communities, partners, and participants
  • Assist with communication, email campaigns, and social engagement tied to program growth
  • Help identify opportunities for partnerships, grants, and community collaborations

    • Operations & Data

  • Maintain participant, donor, and partner databases
  • Track program metrics, engagement, and outcomes
  • Support reporting for leadership, funders, and strategic planning

    • Event & Initiative Support

  • Assist with JTYPL events, TEDxUStreetWomen activations, and special initiatives
  • Support logistics, materials, and coordination for program launches and showcases
