Payroll Specialist

Peoplemark, an Allied Universal Company, is hiring a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate processing of payroll related data, interfacing with employees and branch offices regarding all payroll matters, and assisting in other payroll processing tasks as assigned within the department.
Responsibilities :
- Enter timesheets for temporary employees into WinTeam
- Ensure timecards are received, approved by client, and totaled correctly
- Transmit garnishment related files
- Open incoming mail and distribute as needed
- Handle telephone inquiries (research requests from branch offices and employees concerning discrepancies and other items)
- Handle calls relating to W-2s
- Process stop payments and check reversals
- Submit and adjust client invoices
- Submit branch bills for payment
- Order office supplies
- Order pay cards as needed for branches
- Work with the branch manager regarding aging reports
Qualifications :
High School diploma or equivalentExperience in payroll, accounting, or other shared services related fieldWorking knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other employment related lawsExcellent skills in mathematics and reading comprehensionEffective oral and written communicationProficiency with Microsoft Office ApplicationsIdentify critical issues quickly and accuratelyResearch, investigate, compile informationWrite informatively, clearly, and accuratelyAttending to detailPlanning and organizingProblem solvingEncourage effective teamworkCompile, sort, and interpret dataProficient skills in payroll applicationsPreferred Qualifications :
Associates Degree or higher in AccountingBenefits :
