Verovian Nursing Agency is seeking an experienced RN First Assistant (RNFA) to join a dynamic Operating Room (OR) team in San Pedro, California. This role is essential in providing surgical first assistant, scrub, and circulating nurse services during surgical procedures. As an integral part of the surgical team, you will ensure patient safety, assist surgeons, and support the perioperative team in delivering high-quality surgical care.

• Provide surgical first assistant services during operative procedures, ensuring adherence to all safety and procedural protocols.
• Act as a scrub and circulating nurse in the operating room, supporting surgeons and the perioperative team as needed.
• Participate in the daily operations of the surgical department, ensuring efficiency and adherence to hospital policies.
• Assist in positioning, prepping, and draping patients for surgical procedures.
• Monitor and manage instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field integrity throughout procedures.
• Ensure patient safety by following infection control measures and adhering to OR protocols.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education to stay updated with best practices.
• Provide age-appropriate care for a diverse patient population, including infants, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and pediatrics.

Candidate requirements

• Completion of an RN First Assistant (RNFA) course.
• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification - American Heart Association (Required upon hire).
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN clinical experience in the operating room.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to react quickly in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with surgeons and OR staff.
