Onboarding & Orientation: Develop and conduct comprehensive orientation programs for all new employees, ensuring they are prepared and excited to join the Norwood Crossing family.
Training Champion: Design, schedule, and deliver all mandatory and professional in-service education programs for clinical and non-clinical staff (CNA, LPN, RN, etc.).
Compliance & Audit Prep: Maintain meticulous training records and coordinate all staff competency check-offs to ensure full compliance with all state and federal regulations (IDPH). Be our key resource during regulatory surveys.
Program Management: Oversee the facility's CNA training program and often work closely with the Infection Preventionist role to keep the community safe and educated.
Skill Development: Identify and implement training needed to elevate staff skills, from new clinical protocols to person-centered dementia care techniques.
License: Must possess a current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois.
Experience: Prior experience as an SDC, Education Coordinator, or similar role in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) or Assisted Living setting is strongly preferred.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of current long-term care regulations, state training requirements, and adult learning principles.
Soft Skills: High energy, exceptional organizational skills, and a genuine passion for teaching and mentorship. A great sense of humor is a plus—we work hard, but we also believe in laughing.
