As a growing facility with a rich, 52-year history, our is looking for a Thermoforming Process Technician to help drive and improve our thermoforming capabilities! Reporting to the Molding Manager, the Thermoforming Process Technician's responsibility is to provide day-to-day technical process support leading to process capability and reliability in the Thermoforming area. The Thermoforming Process Technician will identify and drive CI projects leading to Thermoforming achieving or exceeding its performance targets and drive CI projects to improve product quality, overall manufacturing efficiency and productivity while reducing cost and waste. The Thermoforming Process Technician will also foster a working environment that is fair, equitable and driven to continuously improve. Responsibilities : Successfully start up the Extruder, Thermoformer, and all related Thermoforming line components. Troubleshoot processes to produce quality parts at standard cycle times and secure QC approval. Verify standard operating conditions to ensure all product quality requirements are met. Communicate and document any required changes to standard operating conditions, SOPs, or related documentation. Work collaboratively with the Tool Room and Maintenance teams to develop proactive plans that enhance efficiency, reduce overtime, and minimize machine downtime. Maintain a proactive, forward-looking approach by anticipating potential machine issues and addressing them promptly, while also preparing for future Thermoforming production needs. Lead root-cause troubleshooting of Thermoforming line quality issues. Change molds and inserts according to the production schedule or leadership direction. Lead new product launches by determining machine and process parameters that achieve required results. Support the establishment and verification of machines and process standard operating conditions and master setup sheets. Assist with housekeeping and maintenance of machines and molds by identifying needs and participating in their execution. Identify and recommend process improvement opportunities that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency. Actively participate in Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives. Measure produced parts to ensure compliance with first-off and other established quality requirements. Adjust processes as needed to maintain conformance with standards. Follow all quality procedures and work instructions. Calculate and record shift attainment results. Document downtime reasons on attainment boards. Record technical issues in the shift logbook and on attainment boards. Ensure Thermoforming Operators and Packers complete required line inspection reports. Recommend updates to SOPs and other documentation as needed. Participate in training for new products. Provide hands-on training to Thermoforming Operators using approved SOPs. Teach troubleshooting methods to Thermoforming Operators. Offer coaching and guidance, escalating issues to management when necessary for non-compliance or performance concerns. Required Experience : High school diploma required. Community college certificate / diploma from Injection Molding Institutes preferred or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years' experience in a Thermoforming operations environment Certificate from plastics training facilities preferred Good PC skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications Fluent in English with good verbal and written communications skills. Mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills. Previously written SOPs for improvements surrounding Thermoforming processes and quality control. Benefits : Dental insurance. Health insurance.
