Job Overview

As a Commodity Manager within the Supply Chain organization, you will lead the strategic sourcing and supplier management efforts for Power Electronics systems. This role is critical to ensuring supply continuity, driving cost savings, and executing long-term commodity strategies that align with company objectives.

What You'll Do :

• Ensure uninterrupted supply of critical components to support both production and development programs.
• Establish and maintain strong, performance-focused relationships with global power electronics suppliers to ensure alignment with sourcing objectives, technical requirements, and long-term business goals.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities through strategic sourcing, value engineering, and supplier collaboration.
• Manage supplier performance across quality, delivery, cost, and compliance metrics.
• Develop and execute commodity strategies that support scalability, innovation, and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Supplier Quality to identify and qualify suppliers that meet our approved Supplier Criteria.
• Manage a portfolio of key suppliers within assigned commodity groups, including but not limited to : Power Electronics.
• Design, develop, and execute a strategic sourcing vision in close partnership with engineering and cross-functional teams.
• Lead the RFI / RFQ / RFP and strategic sourcing processes; develop and maintain procurement strategies, policies, and systems.
• Negotiate favorable commercial agreements, including pricing, tooling, and engineering services (NRE / EDT).
• Serve as the initial point of escalation for commercial issues and claims; resolve challenges efficiently to maintain project momentum.
• Partner with Engineering, Finance, and Strategy teams to align on scope, product cost, manufacturing technologies, delivery timelines, and quality expectations.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of direct material spend to identify opportunities for cost optimization and strategic initiatives.
• Present data-driven recommendations and improvement opportunities to senior leadership.
• Drive team success by leading through example, empowering team members, and proactively removing roadblocks.

California Pay Range

$120,000 - $160,000 USD
