Litigation Attorney

Job Summary

• Position : Litigation Attorney (2 positions; Los Angeles HQ & Orange County office)
• Employer : Law firm specializing in medical malpractice litigation
• Responsible for all aspects of case management except presenting at trial / arbitration
• Collaborate with trial attorneys in discovery and investigation strategy
• Prepare and respond to pleadings and discovery
• Attend court appearances
• Prepare lawsuits for trial / arbitration and draft motions as requested
• Work closely with Claims Specialists for defense preparation and reporting
• Share knowledge and mentor other attorneys and staff
• Ensure cost-effective case management and defense
• Respond to Claims Department inquiries and provide timely updates
• Represent physicians at depositions in "Depo-only" cases
• Comply with Defense Attorney Guidelines
• Education : J.D. degree required
• Experience : 3 6 years of medical malpractice litigation experience
• Licensed to practice law in California
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to mentor and build enthusiasm among staff counsel
