Description

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in Big Data, distributed systems, and open‑source software development. This role is ideal for an experienced developer and architect who thrives on solving high‑impact, large‑scale technical challenges and influencing the broader technology strategy. You'll drive technical decisions across our suite of products, including data processing pipelines, insights portals, and model deployment frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Drive Technical Strategy and Architecture : Lead the design and evolution of scalable, high‑performance distributed systems, data infrastructure, and cloud‑native architectures, influencing the broader technology strategy and making critical technical decisions across the product suite.
• Implement Advanced Data Processing Solutions : Develop and integrate streaming architectures, real‑time data processing, and event‑driven systems to handle large volumes of data efficiently and provide timely insights.
• Ensure System Scalability and Resilience : Identify and solve complex technical challenges related to scaling distributed systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring the high availability and reliability of critical data infrastructure, leveraging cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes.
• Lead Open‑Source Engagement and Mentorship : Champion open‑source initiatives, contribute to relevant projects, and actively mentor junior and mid‑level engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration within the team.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,100 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
