90+ Project Overview
The 90+ Project is a youth development organization focused on building community, eliminating barriers to soccer participation and using the beautiful game to teach and model character, leadership and mental wellness. We offer soccer and youth development programs for everyone; regardless of ones ability to pay.
POSITION DESCRIPTION (What youll do)
As a Coach Across America AmeriCorps member, you will coach teams and/or lead programs for elementary to high school age youth. Experience is not required, but it is preferred that you have some experience working with youth, sports, or both. We provide on-going training opportunities to support you during your service.
Below are some specific tasks you may be asked to do:
Head coach or assistant coach a 90+ soccer team
Lead the Spokane Public Schools and 90+ Project after school program. Coach soccer in settings such as after school programming, PE classes, individual and team training, community engagement clinics, etc.
Help implement soccer programming developed by the 90+ Staff and Community Engagement Coordinator.
Help students develop social-emotional skills throughout their day, using evidence-based strategies learned during Coach Across America and 90+ Project Training.
Develop sport skills by student level, physically displaying and encouraging sport activity. Create an engaging, safe, and healthy play space for youth to thrive
Additionally, the Coach Across America AmeriCorps / 90+ Coach will: Encourage participants to gain and develop life skills, knowledge, and techniques through sport, using lessons learned at Coach Across America's best-in-class training events. Perform data collection activities.
Attend and complete all Sports-Based Youth Development Training provided (dates are provided during the interview process)
Complete bi-weekly timesheets
Act as a role model, gaining the respect and trust of the community and youth served.

Eligibility & Qualifications
AmeriCorps is open to U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents. Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have, or be working towards, a high School diploma, GED, or equivalent. Must have access to reliable transportation.
Successful completion of criminal history background checks.
Must be friendly, patient, positive, enthusiastic, and experience with children is a must. Previous soccer experience not required (but helpful). You will be paired with a head coach who has prior experience.
Ability to perform all job requirements satisfactorily.
