CNC Machinist

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Set up and operate CNC machines including horizontal mills, boring mills, and lathes
• Perform complex fixturing to secure parts for multi-axis machining
• Interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications for precision manufacturing
• Optimize tooling and machine parameters for cost, quality, and throughput
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and height gauges
• Maintain tight tolerances on complex parts, including gears, sockets, and aerospace components
• Work with a variety of metals including stainless steel, aluminum, titanium, and tool steels
• Recommend design and process improvements
• Maintain safety standards and industry knowledge

KEY QUALIFICATIONS : Strong experience with CNC set-ups, including tooling selection and offsets

Proficient in using advanced measuring tools for quality control

Familiarity with Okuma and Fanuc control systems preferred

Solid understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading

Experience machining parts with tolerances as tight as ±0.0005″

Background in working with various metals and alloys

Excellent communication and math skills

Experience with robotics and “lights-out” CNC setups

Detail-oriented, adaptable, and self-directed

Able to follow instructions and meet safety requirements

Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods

Frequent standing and visual focus

Exposure to moving mechanical parts and loud noise

Occasional lifting, pushing, or carrying of heavy items
