Quality Inspector (1st Shift – Contract-to-Hire)Location: Harwood Heights, ILShift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (OT available until 4:30 p.m.)Pay Range: $21/hr – $26/hrType: Contract-to-Hire (6 months before conversion)Overtime: Available – up to 10 hours/weekA precision manufacturer is seeking a skilled Quality Inspector to join their 1st shift team on a contract-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with inspection tools, is highly detail-oriented, and is comfortable working with documentation and certifications in a precision machining environment. This role is inspection-focused and offers a clear path to full-time employment.What You’ll Do:Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, indicators, optical comparators, and other tools.Verify that incoming materials meet certification requirements and correct revisions/specifications.Review and approve material and special process certifications.Document all inspections and non-conformities in the ERP system.Maintain thorough inspection records and ensure traceability.Interpret and apply engineering drawings and GD&T.Operate CMMs (a plus, not required).Focus 100% of your time in the inspection area for the first 6–12 months.Must-Have Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED2–5+ years in a quality role within manufacturingHands-on experience with micrometers, calipers, indicators, gaugesStrong understanding of GD&T and blueprint readingFamiliarity with first-piece or in-process inspectionAbility to review and validate complex certification documentationComfortable working in precision machining environmentsERP system experience for quality documentationNice-to-Have:Aerospace industry experienceExperience with CMMs or automated inspection toolsBenefits Upon Conversion:6% 401(k) match$ gym membership reimbursementOpportunity to work with critical components in a high-precision environmentThis is a high-priority position, and we are looking to move quickly.
