Compensation : up to $55 per hour

We are seeking a passionate, student-centered 6th Grade Math Teacher to join a growing public charter school in Plainfield, NJ. In this role, you’ll build strong foundations in mathematical thinking while helping students develop the skills, confidence, and problem-solving strategies needed for academic success.

What You’ll Do

Deliver rigorous and engaging math instruction aligned with state standards for 6th grade.

Develop lesson plans that support mastery of key concepts including ratios, expressions, equations, geometry, and data analysis.

Differentiate instruction to meet the varying needs of students, including those needing intervention or enrichment.

Use data-driven practices to assess student progress and adjust instruction for continuous improvement.

Build a positive classroom environment that fosters collaboration, curiosity, and a growth mindset toward mathematics.

Incorporate math-related technology tools to enhance learning and engagement.

Collaborate with grade-level and content teams to develop curriculum and share best practices.

Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.

Perform additional duties as assigned by school leadership.

What You’ll Bring

Required :

Valid New Jersey Standard Teacher Certificate or CE / CEAS / Limited CE in Mathematics or related field

Strong understanding of math content and pedagogy for middle school learners

Demonstrated ability to build strong classroom culture and positive relationships with students

Effective communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills

Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teaching

Successful criminal background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal residency

Preferred :

Experience teaching math at the middle school level

Prior experience in a charter or public school environment

Ability to integrate technology and real-world applications into math instruction
