Clinical Assistant

The Clinical Assistant (CA) assists patients and families by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs. The CA provides comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring. In addition, the CA supports and assists nursing personnel and other providers in diagnostic procedures and technical treatments and functions as a member of the healthcare team. Periop Admit / Discharge serves as the Pre-Op and Phase II Discharge area for our surgery and procedure centers. We see patients of all ages coming to the hospital for a surgery or procedure with many specialties. Our services include orthopedics, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatric general surgery, urology, gynecology, GI, dental, rehabilitation, neurosurgery, and more! Shift : Days, start at 5 : 30am. Monday - Friday Schedule : 2- 10hr shifts in a 2 week period.

Essential Functions :

• Attends to the individual needs of patients, which may include assistance with grooming, bathing, oral hygiene, feeding, incontinent care, toileting, transferring, providing comfort and communicating patient needs with other members of the healthcare team.
• Performs various tasks as assigned, including checking vital signs, weighing patients, applying creams / ointments, applying / changing dressings and collecting specimens.
• Meets patient needs by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients call lights and requests; and reporting observations of the patient to healthcare team members.
• Serves as a conduit between patients and other healthcare providers by recording and communicating all issues to medical team members.
• Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records.
• Stores and prepares rooms and medical equipment for patient and healthcare team member use.
• Participates in departmental committees and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications :

Salary Information : Hourly Rate of Pay : $20.59
