American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Surgical Float / ED Overflow position requiring Level I Trauma and prior travel experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a Medical Surgical unit with float to ED Overflow in a large hospital settingShort Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center environmentTeam nursing model with collaboration among RNs, LPNs, Nurse Techs, and Resource NurseShift options include 36 or 48 hours per week, with days (7 : 00–19 : 00) availableWeekend and on-call coverage required as neededFloating may occur between like units and between campuses within a 20-mile distance, though inter-campus floating is rareCerner EMR is used; prior experience preferredProvide direct patient care in med / surg settings and overflow coverage for the emergency departmentCollaborate closely with multidisciplinary team using a team nursing approachMust be willing to work assigned holidays; if Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's fall during assignment, must work 2 out of 3, or 1 out of 2 if only two occurDress code and scrub requirements will be provided upon hireTravelers who were previously employed must have a separation of at least one year before returning as a travelerAll requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; no additional RTO will be considered after offerRequirements
Active TN or compact RN license required at time of consideration; no pending licensure acceptedMinimum 2 years of RN experience in a hospital setting; 3 years preferredLevel I Trauma experience requiredLarge hospital experience requiredAt least one completed previous travel assignment is required; first-time travelers will not be consideredAssociate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher acceptedCurrent BLS certification requiredMust reside at least 100 miles from the facility (strict radius rule)Copy of driver's license required for considerationVaccination status must be providedBenefits
