United Center Building Security (3rd Shift 11 : 45pm – 8am)
Part time / Evening and weekends availability required

General Responsibilities :
Providing each guest and employees with a safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment to view events through knowledge of Security procedures and facility familiarization at United Center.
Demonstrated Skills :
Must have security experience and / or PERC card. (Event experience or Criminal Justice studies preferred)Flexible work schedule including evening and weekend hoursAverage work hours will total 20 hours per weekMust be a positive, outgoing individual able to work well with large groups of peopleExcellent verbal communication skills and decision-making abilityAbility to sit or walk up to 2 / 3 of the work shiftMust be able to speak, read and comprehend EnglishBasic knowledge of computers and software related to the Security fieldCustomer Service SkillsSpecific Duties :
Create a safe and secure environment for guest and employeesPromote a family atmosphere, guest enjoyment and safetyVisual search of guests and guests’ bags for prohibited items prior to admittance into facilitiesRespond to exterior and interior radio callsMonitor CCTV, door alarms, alarm systemsUsing Security Vehicles for patrols and postsHave complete knowledge of all facility policies and servicesBe aware of safety hazards and reporting them appropriatelyHave superior knowledge of facility services and physical layoutFacility policy enforcementGuest complaint resolutionPromotional Item DistributionDocumenting and reporting all unsafe and unpresentable circumstances within the work area.Miscellaneous operational (day of event) duties as directedQualifications :
Must have security experience and / or PERC card. (Event experience or Criminal Justice studies preferred)High School Diploma or equivalent backgroundMust be 18 years of age or olderValid Driver’s LicenseMust be available to work evening and weekend hoursMust be able to fully perform the essential functions of the jobMust be punctual and able to comply with attendance standardsMust be a positive, outgoing individual able to work well with large groups of peopleMust be able to speak, read and comprehend EnglishMust have strong people skills and able to make firm decisions.Ability to lift up to 10 pounds up to 1 / 3 of the work shiftAdditional information :
Pay Rate = $20 per hourThe individual is required to walk up and down several stairs throughout the duration of the event. The individual may be required to work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places or work in outdoor weather conditions.The position requires ability to stand for 3 quarters (¾) of shift. The use of hands, stooping, kneeling or reaching with hands may be required during shift. There may be lifting up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements : color and the ability to focus.
