HVAC Technician III

Amentum is seeking an HVAC Technician III to join our 1st Shift team in Pittsburgh, PA.

Typical work schedule is 6 : 00 AM -2 : 30 PM, hours may vary based on business demand.

Additional hours may be required to support our 24 / 7 operation.

The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintaining the company's buildings, facilities and equipment in an operating and functional condition. Duties may include any of the following : electrical repairs or installations, fleet repairs, plumbing, welding, carpentry, painting and plastering, masonry, machine servicing, and general mechanical maintenance (e.g. Heating, Ventilating, Air Conditioning or HVAC and sheet metal).

Responsibilities :

• Under general supervision, performs tasks that reflect substantial variety and complexity.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Reviews service requests for repairs and maintenance, determines nature of problem, and recommends appropriate solution.
• Coordinates the day-to-day operations of a group of employees.
• Leads and directs by assigning, monitoring, and reviewing progress and accuracy of work.
• Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues.
• Coordinates work with outside contractors.
• Assures code and building standards are met.
• Performs repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance on buildings and facilities, equipment, fixtures, and systems.
• Work in a team environment on pressing facility related maintenance issues to include performing tasks such as mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, etc., as the needs arise.
• Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains facility systems.
• Performs work based on dispatched service or daily / weekly work schedules.
• Reviews work as required to document specific needs (materials, supplies, instructions, etc.).
• Assists in the movement of furniture, materials, and equipment as required.
• Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
• Works with or oversees subcontractor activities as directed by supervisor or work schedule.
• Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
