A Day in the Life of the Engineering Director

In a constantly evolving industry youll play a key role in delivering creative solutions to complex projects. As part of the leadership team in Colorado and the West you will help develop and implement strategies for marketing business development and regional growth. Youll help identify key pursuits crafting client outreach plans and building strong relationships throughout Colorado. Youll also oversee the performance of our most important multimodal design projects ensuring that each one meets Toole Designs high standards for quality. Your knowledge of local government authorities decision-makers advocates and standards and procedures in the Colorado Front Range will be key to your success.

We are targeting a salary range of $150000 to $190000 for this position. Candidates with more years of experience or exceptional qualifications may fall into a different pay range.

Work Schedule for an Engineering Director

This full-time position typically works a hybrid schedule of 40 hours a week with the full team in the office Tuesdays Wednesdays and Thursdays and the flexibility to work from home up to two days a week. The Denver office of Toole Design is conveniently located in downtown Denver just blocks from Union Station and Civic Center Station. The office is easily accessed on foot by bicycle and via transit.

Requirements

Qualifications for the Engineering Director :

• Colorado PE license and local / regional consulting experience
• At least 15 years of engineering experience in conceptual design alternatives analysis developing construction documents and / or public agency construction administration with a focus on streetscapes and multimodal projects
• At least 10 years serving in a project and / or design management role
• At least 10 years of experience with marketing and business development and a proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships
• A broad knowledge base in civil or transportation engineering with specific experience in street design and proficiency in CADD
• Experience supporting local agencies and jurisdictions with CDOT permitting and project coordination
