Real Estate Associate Attorney or Counsel

Location : Washington, D.C.

Direct Counsel is seeking a mid-level to senior Real Estate Associate or Counsel to join a prestigious Am Law 100 firm in Washington, D.C. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-value commercial real estate transactions , including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and joint ventures for institutional investors and private equity real estate funds.

Key Responsibilities

Represent institutional equity investors and private equity real estate funds in all phases of the investment cycle.

Advise on complex real estate transactions , including acquisitions, dispositions, and financings.

Structure and negotiate joint venture agreements for large-scale commercial real estate projects.

Assist clients in real estate lending transactions , including mortgage and mezzanine loans.

Conduct due diligence, contract drafting, and risk assessments for real estate investments.

Work closely with financial institutions, developers, and investors to develop strategic real estate investment solutions .

Qualifications

Education : J.D. from a top-tier law school.

Experience : At least 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate transactions.

Required : Strong experience with acquisitions, dispositions, financings, or joint ventures .

Skills : Superior academic credentials, excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and communication skills.

Work Environment & Compensation

Salary Range : $225,000 – $365,000 (compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and firm policies).
