Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Test Lead Functional Testing with strong mainframe testing and environment support expertise . This role involves leading end-to-end functional testing , automation initiatives, and backend environment support for complex mainframe systems while ensuring SLA adherence and high-quality delivery.

Key Responsibilities Functional Testing & Leadership

Lead functional and end-to-end testing activities for assigned modules.

Participate in functional and technical discussions with clients and internal teams.

Define and maintain test strategies, test plans, test cases, and test suites .

Mentor QA engineers and drive testing best practices.

Automation & Frameworks

Develop and enhance automated test scripts using Selenium, TestNG , or similar tools.

Design and maintain scalable automation frameworks .

Expand automation coverage aligned with system enhancements.

Mainframe Testing & Environment Support

Provide E2E testing support for backend mainframe systems.

Monitor batch processing flows and ensure timely completion.

Perform root cause analysis and first-level investigation of batch job failures.

Monitor and support file transmissions , including replay / retransmission.

Incident & SLA Management

Act as an escalation point for E2E environment issues.

Initiate and manage bridge calls with multiple support teams.

Escalate severe issues to Incident Management when production is impacted.

Ensure client SLAs are consistently met.

Collaboration & Reporting

Work closely with QA, Development, and Infrastructure teams .

Analyze change documentation in complex environments.

Prepare status reports, risk updates, and escalation summaries .

Technical Skills Required

Mainframe : COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM

Online Systems : CICS (preferred)

Operating Systems : Linux, AIX

Scheduling Tools : CA-7

Testing : Functional Testing, End-to-End Testing, Environment Management

Automation : Selenium, TestNG

Database Testing & Data Validation

Preferred Qualifications

Strong experience with mainframe batch and online systems

Experience in client-facing or production support roles

Excellent communication and coordination skills

Certifications (Optional)

ISTQB Foundation

Test Automation Certification (e.g., Selenium)
