Assistant Controller

Vaco is seeking a an Accountant in Scottsdale, Arizona!

What stands out about this role?

• Leadership Exposure : Report directly to senior leadership and engage in hands-on client communications across projects.

Responsibilities include :

Lead the accounting function through monthly close, ensuring timely and accurate results.

Maintain integrity of the general ledger in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

Partner with cross-functional teams to review financial results and highlight improvement opportunities.

Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing analysis and actionable insights.

Establish and enforce close timelines and quality controls to safeguard financial accuracy.

Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to strengthen controls and reduce risk.

Oversee preparation of recurring financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

Participate in recruiting, onboarding, and developing accounting staff, including training initiatives.

Design and monitor financial metrics to evaluate performance and support continuous improvement.

Review and reconcile intercompany allocations and cost recoveries for accuracy and compliance.

Requirements :

6 years of progressive accounting experience (with 2 years being in a leadership position)

Bachelor's degree in accounting

CPA license preferred)

Willingness to go 5 days on site

Salary $115-120k
