You'll need to understand and respect the cultures, languages, disabilities, and socio-economic situations of those you interact with. To be successful, you should be comfortable with :

• Assuring the security and welfare of jail inmates.
• Supervising, observing, moving, escorting, and securing inmates during daily activities.
• Performing duties such as fingerprinting, initial custody taking, and inmate booking and release.
• Operating a control room, and monitoring closed-circuit television cameras and emergency monitors.
