Material Controller
The Material Controller will be responsible for moving product to maintain appropriate flow through production areas. The incumbent will be responsible for receiving, issuing and physically moving material in an efficient and timely manner.
Essential Functions
- Provides accurate and timely documentation of material and product movement to ensure the accuracy of the computers inventory system and the physical location and organization of inventory.
- Interprets production plans and shipping orders to provide the required levels of material handling and shipping.
- Complete regular cycle counts under the guidelines set by accounting ensuring the accuracy in IFS.
- Work timely and expeditiously to deliver an on-time product without errors.
- Use various types of material handling equipment including forklifts and overhead cranes to assist in the load, unload and movement of materials and product.
Other Important Details about the Role
Must regularly assess and update priorities ensuring no lapse in production.Complete TPM inspection of the forklift on a daily basis.Perform other duties as directed by leaders and management.Actively participate in department safety, demonstrate excellent safety practices and behaviors which conform to all Valmont safety policies and procedures.Required Qualifications of Every Candidate (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
A high school diploma or equivalent.At least 1 year experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is desired.Prior forklift and overhead crane experience.Ability to prioritize work in order to complete deadlines.Basic computer knowledge and an understanding of job-related programs.Highly Qualified Candidates Will Also Possess These Qualifications

This position will work in both indoor and outdoor locations during all seasons of the year. Safety glasses with side shields and safety shoes will be required to enter production areas as well as hearing protection. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent may be required to reach with hands and arms. The incumbent will also be required to frequently use hands and fingers at the keyboard. It may be required to get on and off heavy machinery. In addition, the incumbent may occasionally be required to bend or twist. The employee must occasionally lift, pull or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this include close vision distance vision and ability to adjust focus.
