Activities Coordinator, Per Diem

Position Overview:

Assists and provides an activities program appropriate to meet the needs of the participants. Serves as part of the interdisciplinary team in evaluating individual needs and implementing appropriate programming. Helps to build a sense of community and warm social atmosphere, while ensuring the safety and security of participants.

EDUCATION:

HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience

CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider

DEPARTMENT-SPECIFIC CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE:

Department: Kahi, CPI-Nonviolent Crisis Prevention & Intervention Training

TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

2 years recent relevant experience.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Working knowledge of the needs of the elderly, such as mobility limitations, sensory impairment and cognitive loss.

Sensitivity to the activities and educational needs of various ethnic groups is essential.

Familiarity with basic recreation equipment.

Good attention to detail with time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize assignments and work within standardized policies, procedures, and practices to achieve objectives.

Basic computer knowledge such as word processing, presentation, and email software preferably Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Ability to work independently as well as be part of the team, while accomplishing multiple tasks under varied conditions.

Ability to use existing procedures to solve standard/straightforward problems.

Ability to ensure the privacy of each patient’s Protected Health Information (PHI).

Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse audiences.

Ability to build collaborative relationships with participants, peers, physicians, other healthcare providers, and community resources to promote Suter Health services and provide exceptional customer service.

Pay Range is $22.81 to $28.51 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location.
