[job_card.job_description]Position : Sterile Processing Tech (SPT) Profession : Surgical Services Specialty : Sterile Processing Facility : UW Health – University Hospital Contract Group : University of Wisconsin Health Work Location : 600 Highland Ave Madison, WI 53792 Status : Open Start Date : 02 / 23 / 2026 Contract Length : 13 weeks Job Type : Travel Shift : Day Shift – 5×8s Hours : 11 : 00 AM – 7 : 30 PM Days : Monday through Friday Weekends : ❌ None On Call : ❌ None Magnet® designated academic medical center Level I Trauma Center (REQUIRED experience) Ranked #1 hospital in Wisconsin Teaching & referral center with cutting-edge surgical services Decontaminate, clean, sterilize, and reprocess surgical instruments and medical equipment Assemble trays and manage specialty instrumentation Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and HLD systems Maintain accurate equipment documentation and tracking Support ORs and all hospital departments in a fast-paced environment Contribute directly to patient safety and quality care Minimum 2 years Sterile Processing experience Level I or Level II Trauma Center experience – REQUIRED Experience in an academic or large acute-care hospital Permanent address must be outside a 50-mile radius of Madison, WI (locals not accepted) CBSPD – Certified Sterile Processing & Distribution Technician IAHCSMM / HSPA – CRCST Acute Hospital OR experience Endoscope & scope reprocessing Specialty trays (Ortho, Neuro, Robotics, Cardiac, Vascular, etc.) Instrument tracking systems ( Censitrac preferred ) Weekly pay Medical benefits
