Staff Accountant

Description We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Secaucus, New Jersey. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential accounting processes and support financial operations within a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in corporate tax, general ledger management, and journal entries, along with experience in SAP and the retail sector.

Responsibilities :

• Perform daily audits by reconciling cash and receivables and uploading transaction data.
• Handle month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries to maintain proper accounting records.
• Provide support in accounts payable tasks, including invoice processing and vendor management.
• Manage corporate and sales tax processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
• Assist in the preparation and review of corporate tax returns.
• Maintain and update the general ledger to reflect accurate financial data.
• Utilize SAP for accounting operations and reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting procedures and improve efficiency.
• Apply knowledge of retail accounting practices to support business operations. Requirements - Proven experience in corporate tax, including sales tax and tax return preparation.
• Strong proficiency in journal entries and general ledger management.
• Familiarity with SAP software for accounting and reporting.
• Background in retail accounting processes and financial operations.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to reconcile financial discrepancies.
• Solid understanding of month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate within a finance team.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
