Operations Manager Kentwood MI

Salary Range : $101000 - $148000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Kentwood seeking Operations Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production schedules and manufacturing operations to meet output targets.
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement initiatives to optimize processes and reduce waste.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards and implement robust quality control measures across production.
  • Manage mentor and develop production teams fostering a culture of safety efficiency and accountability.
  • Monitor and control operational budgets identifying cost-saving opportunities and resource optimization.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and logistics to ensure timely material flow and inventory management.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all regulatory and company safety standards.

Recommended Qualifications

  • 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations management.
  • Proven leadership in managing developing and motivating production teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement (e.g. Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma).
  • Strong understanding of production planning quality control and supply chain processes.
  • Experience with budgeting cost control and P&L management in a manufacturing setting.
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety standards and regulatory compliance.

    • Bonus Qualifications

  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Proven experience with specific ERP systems (e.g. SAP Oracle Microsoft Dynamics).
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies and automation initiatives.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
