Job Description

As a Security Officer - Campus Patrol Full-Time in Norfolk, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer at a dynamic education location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing exceptional customer service. Your visible presence and strong communication skills support a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. What You'll Do :

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, following established protocols for educational environments.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus, including buildings and surrounding areas, to help to deter unauthorized activity and help to maintain a secure environment.
  • Monitor access points and observe activities within the location to help to deter violations of policies or procedures.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, hazards, and / or suspicious activities to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with campus staff and local authorities as directed to support a secure atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors.
  • Provide assistance and information to individuals on the premises, addressing questions or concerns related to security-related matters.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
