Description :

The Emergency Department has 25 beds and a staff of 65 FTEs.

Staffing includes 1 Assistant Nurse Manager, 9 RNs, 3 EMTs, and 2 Ultrasound Techs during the day shift.

The night shift consists of 1 Assistant Nurse Manager, 9 RNs, 3 EMTs, and 1 Ultrasound Tech.

Patient ratios are a minimum of 4 : 1 and a maximum of 5 : 1 when possible.

Equipment utilized in the unit includes rapid infusers, vein finders, TTM machines, CVP and arterial lines, bedside ultrasound, and warmers.

The electronic medical record system is ED Medi-tech.

Candidates must have the following skills to be considered : TNCC, ENPC, PALS, ACLS, BLS, and CPI / TIC.

A year of experience in the Emergency Department is required.

Preferred qualifications include a BSN or higher and certifications such as CEN.

Typical procedures performed in the unit include open thoracotomy, arterial line and CVP readings, ultrasound IV placement, target temperature management, and critical medication drips and titration.

The ideal candidate will be a great team player with strong critical thinking skills and customer service abilities.

No floating to other areas is required.

Dress code is royal blue scrubs.

Guidelines and policies regarding specific age management, SEPSIS, STEMI and STROKE, trauma management, and triage competencies will be provided during onboarding.

A weekend rotational schedule is in place.
