Must-Have Skills / Experience :
Graduation from an approved school of Radiology Sciences with certification in nuclear medicine.
Responsible for the preparation of stock solutions of radiopharmaceuticals and materials.
Calculates and administers doses under the direct supervision of a Radiologist.
Calibrates equipment used in the administration of tests.
Assesses patients’ understanding of exams and obtains informed consent.
Instructs and prepares patients for exams.
Interacts professionally with patients and their families.
Performs diagnostic exams as prescribed by physicians.
Assesses, evaluates, and informs physicians of changes in patients’ conditions during testing.
Responsible for the care and safety of patients undergoing exams.
Uses scanners or scintillation cameras for detection of radiation emitted to produce images.
Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
Follows radiation safety techniques and policies in the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
Provides care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, geriatric, and general populations.
Practices medical and surgical aseptic procedures.
