Fire Alarm Inspector Job Responsibilities:

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the job responsibilities.

• Conducts reoccurring fire system inspections in accordance with fire codes.
• Educates and trains customers on fire system operations and functionality.
• Communicates daily with Customer Service Coordinator on delays, requirements, and general status of inspections.
• Assists other technicians with preventative maintenance of customer equipment.
• Completes the Record or Completion (ROC) for recently completed installs.
• Completes inspection reports for municipality required inspection schedules.
• Prints required documents for site storage after an ROC or inspection.
• Works with other technicians in servicing systems and resolving inspection deficiencies as needed.
• Files ROC and Inspection reports within the ERP system and required compliance website locations.
• Completes follow-up inspection visits for repairs on failed points.
• Manages individual truck stock inventory, materials, tools, and company equipment
• Reads and interprets wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints
• Complies fully with the safety programs of GSSC and the Client
• Positively represents GSSC to customers with consistent professionalism
• All other duties as assigned
  
  

Minimum qualifications include the following:

• Hold a valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Associate degree required OR 2+ years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and diagrams
• Ability to use computer/mobile device to complete on-site paperwork
• Strong customer service skills and results orientation
• Strong conflict management and problem-solving skills.
• Have a strong attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Comfort in working in a results-based environment where success can be measured.
• Pass a background check
  
  

Preferred qualifications include the following:

• Power Limited Technician (PLT) registration and willingness to achieve PLT within 36 months or minimal months necessary to qualify as per the state of employment from date of hire.
• NICET certification
• Computer/Networking Experience
  
  

Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

• Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
• Frequent driving is required to travel to client sites.
• Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
• Moderate noise level in the work environment.
• Although most work is performed inside, occasional outside activities are subject to seasonal temperature fluctuations.
• Required to complete ladder work, operate scissor and boom lifts, move boxes, and lift, up to 30 lbs.
