Description
Self-directed field engineer or technician, working as part of a larger team, responsible for completing residential and commercial foundation inspections for both slab and pier-and-beam structures/foundations. Provides excellent customer service and maintains positive client relationships. Training provided.
Responsibilities
· Perform visual foundation inspections, including:
o Record visual damage notes and other structure characteristics
o Prepare a to-scale diagram of the structure
o Evaluate and note terrain and drainage features surrounding the structure
o Review paperwork provided by pertinent repair company (as needed)
o Interview the homeowner (as needed)
o Provide design recommendations for foundation repairs, drainage, guttering, and terrain adjustments (if necessary)
o Verify work has been completed if the inspection is for “post-construction” purposes
o Evaluate repairs with respect to local construction codes (if necessary)
· Prepare and review subsequent engineering reports for accuracy
o Make recommendations or verify repair plans are in conformance with generally accepted engineering practices and provided agreement
o Provide foundation inspection paperwork to the office upon inspection completion
o Review subsequent digital report to ensure statements and recommendations are accurate
o Answer property owner questions thoroughly and politely
Required Skills and Qualifications
· Technical knowledge of slab and pier-and-beam structures/foundations
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interface and customer service
· Exceptional time management skills
* Abilities/willingness to crawl pier and beams thoroughly
· Due to the nature of this job, applicant should be physically capable of crawling pier-and-beam foundations for inspections, as well as possess physical strength and stamina to endure heat, cold and other outdoor conditions
· Located in the San Antonio Area
· Ability to utilize mobile technology to complete inspections and other responsibilities
· Willing to drive long distances (as needed)
· Ability to work well against deadlines, while maintain accuracy and prioritizing multiple projects
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
· 2 years of experience in the foundation repair industry, residential adjusting or construction/inspection and/or an engineering experience
