Job Title : Cost Analyst - Supply Chain & Procurement
Position Overview :
Our client, a leading player in the aviation and manufacturing sector, is seeking an experienced Cost Analyst to support cost management initiatives across the supply chain. This role is critical in driving financial visibility, managing cost risks, and enabling strategic decision-making through accurate reporting and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical background, a proactive mindset, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to leadership and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and deliver detailed monthly cost reports, identifying trends, explaining variances, and recommending corrective actions to ensure financial goals are achieved.
- Build and maintain cost forecasting tools to support short and long-term financial planning.
- Analyze cost data related to manufacturing, materials, and procurement; offer actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Conduct "should cost" analyses for a variety of components and services within aerospace programs.
- Lead or contribute to cross-functional cost optimization projects focused on increasing efficiency and reducing spend.
- Maintain accurate documentation for cost data, supplier agreements, and relevant contracts.
- Drive continuous improvement by assessing current processes and suggesting streamlined solutions.
- Collaborate with departments such as operations, engineering, and finance to align cost strategies with broader business objectives.
- Mentor team members in cost analysis practices and support procurement strategy development.
- Identify operational inefficiencies or process gaps that lead to excess costs and propose strategic improvements.
- Stay current with market trends, cost drivers, and industry benchmarks to inform strategic purchasing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procurement standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, Finance, or related discipline strongly preferred.Minimum 3+ years of experience in cost analysis, project cost management, supply chain, or a related role.Background in aviation, aerospace manufacturing, or complex mechanical systems preferred but not required.Ability to interpret engineering drawings and understand technical documentation.Experience using cost analysis tools and ERP systems; SAP proficiency a plus.Strong organizational, presentation, and communication skills with a high attention to detail.Ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively across departments.Technical Skills :
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office Suite applications.Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning tools is highly desirable.Strong data analysis and visualization skills; capable of translating complex datasets into business insights.Physical and Work Environment Requirements :
Must be able to work in an environment that includes exposure to operational equipment and occasional industrial noise, temperature fluctuations, or production odors.Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, or stretch for extended periods as needed.Capable of safely lifting or moving objects up to 10 lbs. without assistance.Must adhere to safety and regulatory guidelines including FAA, OSHA, and internal standards.Requires clear communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
