Title : Manufacturing Engineer

Location : Near Romeoville, IL

Hire Type : Long Term Contract opportunity

Compensation : $80k-90k / yr.

The Manufacturing Engineer manages complex cross-functional projects aimed at improving safety, quality, delivery, and cost through waste elimination. This role bridges the gap between design and operations, ensuring that new products are launched efficiently and that existing processes are optimized through advanced automation and Industry 4.0 solutions. This individual serves as a mentor to junior staff and a technical lead for high-impact capital equipment projects.

Job Duties :

  • Prepare detailed project plans, including timelines and task hours, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Oversee R&D for new manufacturing equipment, processes, and standard operating procedures
  • Interact with Design Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure Design for Manufacturability
  • Identify and implement capital projects for new technologies and business needs.
  • Design and implement tooling and fixtures focused on error-proofing.
  • Lead Process Mapping, FMEA, Rapid Improvement Events (RIEs), and 8-Step Problem Solving.
  • Support the transition to Industry 4.0 and advanced automation solutions.
  • Create and improve standard tools used in project delivery and automation.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or a related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in data analysis programs and CAD / CAM software.
  • Experience with new product integration and significant operational improvement projects.
  • Six Sigma, Red X, or other formal problem-solving certification (Preferred).
