Estimator - Commercial Roofing

Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Roofing Estimator to support estimating, bidding, and pricing for a wide range of roofing projects. This role is responsible for developing accurate takeoffs, evaluating project requirements, preparing proposals, and collaborating closely with operations, project management, and leadership teams. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience estimating commercial roofing systems including metal, low-slope, and sheet-metal-related scopes.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate estimates, material takeoffs, and labor projections for commercial roofing projects

• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to determine project scope and requirements

• Estimate multiple roofing system types including metal, low-slope, TPO, PVC, EPDM, coatings, and sheet metal

• Evaluate trim, flashing, accessories, and specialty metals commonly used in commercial roofing and architectural sheet metal

• Produce detailed proposals, pricing sheets, and bid packages for both negotiated and competitive bids

• Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client walkthroughs as needed

• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to ensure handoff accuracy and alignment on project scope

• Maintain strong vendor and subcontractor relationships to obtain accurate pricing and lead times

• Assist with value-engineering options and alternative system recommendations when appropriate

• Track bid results and support leadership with forecasting and pipeline reporting

• Ensure all estimates align with company standards, safety requirements, and operational capabilities

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of experience estimating commercial roofing projects

• Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems including metal, low-slope membranes, coatings, and sheet metal components

• Experience with takeoff and estimating software such as The EDGE, Estimating Edge, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar tools

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, roofing plans, details, and technical specifications

• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

• Valid driver's license and ability to attend site visits as required
