We are seeking an experienced and motivated Staff Development Coordinator to join our skilled nursing facility team. This role is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing staff education and training programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and to support quality resident care.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop, coordinate, and deliver orientation and ongoing training programs for nursing and facility staff
Maintain accurate records of in-services, competencies, licenses, and certifications
Assess staff performance and provide coaching or remedial training as needed
Ensure all education and training meets CMS, state, and facility guidelines
Lead infection control and prevention initiatives, including surveillance and reporting
Collaborate with leadership team to support quality improvement and resident care standards
Participate in audits, surveys, and compliance processes
Serve as a role model for professionalism and best clinical practices
Qualifications :
Active RN license in the State of North Carolina (required)
Prior long-term care, geriatric nursing, or skilled nursing experience strongly preferred
Experience in staff development or nurse education (preferred but willing to train the right candidate)
Knowledge of infection control standards, regulatory compliance, and nursing best practices
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to teach, motivate, and support staff at all levels
