We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement treatment plans that enhance the quality of life for patients. Your expertise in assisting individuals with daily living activities and rehabilitation will be essential in promoting their independence and well-being. This position is for home health environment.
Responsibilities :
- Assist occupational therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients.
- Provide direct patient care by helping individuals perform activities of daily living (ADLs).
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and techniques to promote recovery.
- Monitor patient progress and document changes in their condition or responses to treatment.
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments, progress notes, and any relevant medical terminology.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Stay informed about advancements in occupational therapy practices, particularly related to geriatrics and outpatient care.
Qualifications :
Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant from an accredited program.Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and geriatric care is preferred.Experience in home health or outpatient settings is a plus.Familiarity with creating and following care plans tailored to individual patient needs.Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and team members.Ability to demonstrate empathy and patience while assisting patients with their rehabilitation goals.Proficiency in understanding medical imaging as it relates to therapy practices is beneficial.A commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical standards in healthcare.Job Types : Full-time, Part-time, Contract
