What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Veterinary Technician or Senior Veterinary Assistant with experience in urgent or emergency care. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, clinical knowledge, and a passion for providing outstanding patient care.
Requirements
- Current and valid California RVT license OR 5+ years of veterinary nursing experience
- Proficiency in animal handling, restraint, and nursing care
- Solid knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Experience with diagnostic equipment, including radiology and lab equipment
- Excellent communication and client education skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis
- Prior experience in urgent care or emergency veterinary settings is highly desirable
- Must maintain or obtain California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP) within 60 days of hire (waived for RVTs)
Responsibilities
Perform triage and administer immediate care to incoming patientsCollect and record patient history, vital signs, and presenting symptomsAssist veterinarians during medical procedures and treatmentsAdminister medications, vaccines, and treatments as directedConduct laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and cytologyMonitor patients under sedation or recovering from proceduresEducate clients on home care and medication administrationMaintain accurate and up-to-date medical recordsPerform accurate mathematical calculations for medications, CRIs, invoices, and estimatesCommunicate with professionalism, empathy, and discretion in all interactionsCompensation
RVT : $25.00 – $40.00 per hour
SVA : $25.00 – $36.00 per hour
$5.50 differential for any hours worked between 6pm-6am.
