JOB DESCRIPTION
- FULL TIME
To assist the Dean of the Student Development Office in the overall supervision of all undergraduate students with specific responsibility to the residence hall to which they are assigned. There is one position available on our team: (1) Women's Dorm (1) Men's Dorm
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Conduct daily office hours
- Administer accountability/disciplinary procedures
- Handle and respond to emergencies (fire, life-threatening situations, injuries, weather emergencies)
- Conduct weekly meetings with RAs (informational)
- Staff meeting with the Dean of Student Development and staff
- Complete all necessary paperwork as it relates to residence hall
- Complete weekly reports
- Nightly duty - cover campus/attend SA/Campus events/lock-up/emergencies
- Weekend duty - cover entire campus
- Cafeteria duty - monitor entrance, address inappropriate entry, awareness of the overall environment
- Walk through residence halls - inspect all floors for maintenance and cleaning problems
- Attend chapel, coordinate attendance, address any problems
- Work Fall/Spring orientation/registration
- Work on revisions for RA Training Manual
- Housing - assist with roommate problems, floor plans
- Oversee and coordinate residence hall move out at end of the year
- Mentor and development student leaders and residents.
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree; on-going classes toward a Masters in a counseling related field is preferred
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Requires one year experience in residential life. Good written, oral, interpersonal, leadership, administrative, and organizational skills a must. Must be able to handle emergency situations and make sound on-the-spot decisions.
Must maintain a high level of confidentiality of information.
Maintains compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), policy, Title IX policy and the procedures.
