Core Job Details Job ID : 9707 Job Title : Microfocus Cobol Developer Client : State of South Carolina- SCDMV Job Description : SCDMV employs a multi-tiered architecture in its core business systems. The business application tier utilizes microfocus visual Cobol running under IIS on MS windows 2022 servers. This assignment will support development of new business functions and troubleshooting, modification, and enhancement of existing functions in this environment within the existing SCDMV application framework. Projects may include business logic supporting on-line systems, batch programming, data extraction, and reports involving all SCDMV business areas. This engineer will work closely and will be involved with both the UI tiers which are MS .net applications (vb.net, c#.net) and the database tiers in both SQL and oracle. Production trouble shooting support will be expected so some level of production support experience is required. This contractor will be expected to work with minimal supervision, will be in direct contact with business area specialists, develop technical approaches and designs, code, test, and support these functions. Communications skills must be excellent. Responsibility : Analyse the SCDMV phoenix ii, web service, and batch business applications Take the lead in analysing and trouble-shooting assigned system problems Propose solutions Code, test, promote, and interact with impacted users ensuring that solution meets requirements. Provide daily and weekly status to the development manager. Basic Qualifications : 8+ Years of Development with MICROFOCUS Visual COBOL in Windows Server 2019 / 2022, batch and under IIS. 4+ Years Experience with Visual Studio 2019 / 2022 including the ability to use the debugger 4+ years of Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL). Bachelor’s degree in IT, OR related discipline with 8 years of experience or minimum 10 years related experience without degree Preferred Qualifications : Experience with MICROFOCUS COBOL Version 7 and higher IIS Configuration / Setup Skilled in C# and .NET Ability to write complex queries using SQL for Oracle and MS SQL DB Microfocus Certification – please indicate specific certificate on resume Microsoft Certification – please indicate specific certificate on resume Job Location : 10311 Wilson Blvd Blythewood, SC 29016 Job Duration : 12 months + with possibility of Extension Job Category : Programmer Job Occupations :

This will be a hybrid role allowing the candidate the opportunity for partial remote work up to one day a week unless project needs dictate otherwise.
