Monitor health conditions, including vital signs, and report concerns to supervisors or medical professionals. Assist with physical therapy exercises or other therapeutic regimens as directed by healthcare providers. Plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals, accommodating dietary restrictions and preferences. Ensure proper hydration and encourage healthy eating habits. Assist with feeding when necessary. Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and tidying up living areas. Run errands, including grocery shopping and picking up prescriptions. Maintain a safe and clean environment for the person served. Provide social interaction and companionship to reduce loneliness and promote emotional well-being. Engage in meaningful activities such as games, hobbies, or conversation. Offer encouragement and support to foster independence. Drive or accompany individuals to medical appointments, social events, or errands. Assist with entering and exiting vehicles safely. Maintain accurate records of care provided, including tasks completed, health observations, and incidents. Communicate effectively with family members, supervisors, and medical professionals regarding the individual’s care. Recognize and respond appropriately to emergencies, such as medical issues or accidents. Know and follow emergency protocols, including contacting supervisors or emergency services. Uphold the dignity, rights, and preferences of the person served. Advocate for the individual’s needs and preferences in their care plan. Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. Participate in ongoing training and certification programs to stay updated on best practices in caregiving.
