Pay Rate : $19–$22 / hr

About the Opportunity

IES Commercial, Inc. is hiring Entry-Level Cable Technicians to support a major data center construction project. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals coming from a low-voltage trade school or candidates looking to begin a career in structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center infrastructure.

You’ll work on a high‑profile Data Center build with ongoing opportunities for advancement. IES is known for promoting from within and offering cross-training across multiple departments including telecom, security, and communications.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, and install low-voltage cabling
• Assist Level II Technicians
• Handle and transport materials on-site
• Use basic hand and power tools
• Climb ladders and work comfortably at heights
• Install wireway, bus duct, cable tray, switches, receptacles, and related components
• Build telecom closets : Install backboards, racks, patch panels, fiber hardwarePerform grounding work for racks / equipment
• Complete all IDC terminations (110 / 66 blocks, patch panels)
• Assist or oversee conduit installation and wire pulls
• Safely operate tools such as cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, and others requiring two-hand operation

Required Skills & Qualifications

Required Personal Tools

Screwdriver set, drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips w / sheath, needle-nose & channel‑lock pliers, hammer, cable stripper, flashlight, and gloves.
