Daycare Teacher
Position Overview: We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and faith-filled Teacher Assistant to support our lead teacher in providing Christ-centered care and early education to children in our 3-year-old classroom. The ideal candidate will share our Christian values and be passionate about nurturing young hearts and minds while introducing children to God's love in age-appropriate ways.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Support
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
- Help maintain a structured daily routine including circle time, snack time, outdoor play, rest time, and learning centers
- Supervise children during all activities to ensure their safety and well-being
- Support children in developing independence skills such as using the bathroom, washing hands, and cleaning up after activities
Child Development & Engagement
- Interact with children at their eye level, fostering positive relationships and emotional security
- Encourage language development through conversation, storytelling, and singing
- Guide children in resolving conflicts peacefully and developing social skills
- Observe and document children's progress, behavior, and milestones as needed
- Adapt activities to meet individual children's needs and learning styles
Classroom Environment
- Help prepare and organize learning materials, toys, and classroom spaces
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
- Set up and clean up for meals, snacks, and activities
- Ensure all toys and equipment are sanitized according to health and safety guidelines
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate effectively with the lead teacher, other staff members, and parents
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Report any concerns about children's development, behavior, or safety to the lead teacher or director
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- CDA (Child Development Associate) credential, Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent coursework (preferred)
- Previous experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children (preferred)
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Clear background check and health screenings as required by state licensing
- Understanding of early childhood development and age-appropriate practices

position - Monday through Friday
9:00am-5:30pm - Active classroom environment requiring physical engagement with children
