Insurance Analyst

Overview

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School graduation or GED equivalent
• Ability to communicate with a broad range of people
• Excellent keyboarding skills

Desired Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of medical/insurance terminology
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and explain insurance requirements and benefits
• Working knowledge of insurance regulations, billing procedures and diagnosis coding
• Working knowledge of automated UB92 and/or HCFA 1500 billing
• Working knowledge of hospital registration procedures

Responsibilities

Analyzes insurance medical necessity requirements and benefits to ensure requirements are met for claims to be submitted according to IH's standards of quality, efficiency and desired outcomes.
