Compensation : $175,000 $195,000 base + ~$175,000 equity (4-year vesting)

Role Summary
Seeking a Data Platform Engineer to architect and manage data systems powering global sequencing
logistics, lab operations, and customer insight. This role combines backend engineering, data
infrastructure, and analytics to drive high-quality, scalable performance. Ideal for engineers with
early-stage startup experience who want to own mission-critical systems and move fast in a technically
demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and maintain pipelines aggregating lab throughput, logistics, and customer behavior
- Build backend infrastructure for real-time delivery coordination across 10+ labs
- Maintain and optimize data warehouse architecture (Snowflake, DBT, etc.)
- Develop scalable tools to track operational performance, quality, and bottlenecks
- Translate raw data into actionable product and operational insights
- Collaborate with engineering, science, and business teams to align systems to workflows
- Lead root cause investigations into data anomalies or performance issues
Required Qualifications
5-10 years of experience in software or data engineeringAt least 2 years at a Seed to Series B company withBS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field from a top 40 U.S. universityProficiency in SQL (querying, modeling, optimization)Strong Python skills including data libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy)Experience with ETL / ELT tools (e.g., DBT), Snowflake, and web frameworks (e.g., Flask, Django)Comfort working with Git and Linux-based environmentsOwnership mentality with a willingness to work in a high-intensity, fast-paced settingPreferred Qualifications
